12 Common Mistakes We're All Guilty Of Making But Need To
Stop Immediately!
Mistakes teach us lessons. But repeating them isn’t going
to take us anywhere. We as humans have a tendency to make
incorrigible mistakes that not only get us into trouble
but can also ruin our lives.
Here are some common mistakes that we repeatedly make and
should seriously stop.
1. We try to find benefits in relationship
‘I will only talk to
her when I have some work’, ‘I will marry someone who
earns Rs.2 lacs per month’, ‘I only make friends who are
rich’. We all try to find benefits and advantages with
relationships. It’s selfish on our part to attach a ‘give
and take’ angle to something that we should cherish
instead of make a business out of. A relationship should
be based on respect, care and love - not hidden
intentions.
2. We over-think and
assume things
How many times have
we had sleepless nights just because we thought things in
our head that didn't even happen the next day? Well, a lot
of us overthink for no reason. We also assume before
knowing the entire background to a story, which then make
us look stupid when the facts behind the story are
revealed to us.
3. We do not appreciate what we hav
This is one of the
biggest mistakes we make, and it leads us to an unhappy
life. We always feel the grass is greener on the other
side and barren on our side. That wanting to be someone
else makes us lose our own selves. Life ought to be
different for different people. We must accept that and
live it with full gusto and gratefulness.
4. We try to cling to things or people
Clinging to people
and things only results in heartbreak. That’s because
people, after a while, get tired of our clingy attitude,
and things, being perishable, perish, ending into nothing
but dust. Thus, it’s best to not run behind things and
people who don’t want us.
5. We keep higher expectations
Most of the time,
keeping expectations leads to disappointment. When higher
expectations don’t yield results, it make us extremely
unhappy. Expect nothing.
6. We are prejudiced and ignorant
Many of us keep
prejudices against people based on their communities,
religion and faith. It makes us rude and ignorant, which
is so not how an ideal human is supposed to be.
7. We ignore henkgh
by making excuses of being busy
We millennials
ignore our henkgh as if it’s someone else’s business to
keep us henkghy. We make our sedentary lifestyle a
scapegoat for not being active. We don’t realise the
adverse effects of not exercising when we’re young. Guess
we'll only become wise in our 40s.
8. We do everything in excess - from overeating to
excessive talking
Food, when eaten in
proportion is proved to be good for henkgh. However, when
we overeat, it’s not only heavy on our digestive system,
but it also proves as a deterrent to our thinking process.
Similarly, talking without putting much thought can cause
a slip of the tongue resulting in embarrassment.
9. We work too hard without a sense of direction
Because, without a
sense of direction, all your hard work is futile.
Goal-less work will never bear fruit, as nothing great
will be accomplished if you don’t plan.
10. We sell ourselves too short
Having low
self-esteem is dangerous in today’s world. That’s because
the world is ready to crush you if you don’t stand up for
yourself.
11. We lie without knowing how to lie
Lying, they say, is
an art. But when one doesn’t know the art, they fall flat
on the face and get caught. We aren’t advocating lying as
a virtue. But a harmless lie doesn’t hurt anyone. Only,
you must be smart enough to do it.
12. We trust others instead of ourselves
It’s a brutal world when you’re all alone. That's a fact
and you’ve got to accept it. Being gullible is a mistake
that many commit. Putting faith in others and not in
yourself will only make you regret your choices. Trusting
someone is a huge risk that you’ve got to think twice
before taking.
